Chloé Kerr has worked in the PR/communications industry for more than a decade spanning multiple areas, including multicultural communications, brand management, crisis and risk management and executive visibility. Her ultimate passion is identifying and sharing untold stories of diverse communities.
She joined the GM family in March 2021 as a communications director, specializing in diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) communications and works directly with GM’s chief DEI officer. She oversees and manages communications planning, strategy, cross-functional integration and execution of DEI storytelling, corporate announcements and milestones that highlight GM’s aspirations to be the most inclusive company in the world.
Previously, Kerr worked with Wells Fargo's marketing communications team to support the bank's efforts to engage diverse communities, nationally and globally. Her role focused on strategic communications, enterprise storytelling, executive communications, and multicultural engagement. Prior to Wells, Kerr built a strong communications foundation and worked her way up at two PR agencies in Washington, D.C., Sage Communications and Ketchum, an Omnicom agency.
Kerr has a master’s degree from Georgetown University in public relations and corporate communications and bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California (USC) in political science and communications. The communications field is Kerr’s second career. She played professional basketball in Europe and Australia for five years upon graduation from USC, where she was a student-athlete. She is an empathetic leader, driven by purpose with a dream is to eventually combine her experience in PR and sports. Outside of her professional career, she enjoys wonderful life experiences with her family and friends. She now resides in Los Angeles, CA.
