Mary Helene is an investigative reporter covering rapid growth, the environment, and diverse communities in the Mobile Bay area. She recently graduated from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, earning a degree in journalism and women's and gender studies. During her time as a student, she served as editor-in-chief of the campus paper from 2021-2023 and led a full rebrand, launched a redesigned website, and facilitated the transition to a digital-only publication. She interned at AL.com and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution as a reporter covering politics, crime, and culture.
