Christopher Kane
Washington Blade
White House correspondent & Sr. politics reporter
Washington DC
I currently serve as White House correspondent and senior politics reporter for the Washington Blade, a 54-year-old news organization distinguished as America’s oldest and largest newspaper serving the LGBTQ community. I am credentialed with a “hard pass” allowing nearly unfettered access to the White House campus, where I have covered briefings by the White House Press Secretary and other officials in the Biden-Harris administration, representing one of the small number of outlets with a spot in the 49-chair James S. Brady Press Briefing Room of the West Wing.
My beat also includes Capitol Hill. I have interviewed well over a dozen members of Congress, including Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), and covered Congressional races including key contests in the 2022 midterm elections. My work has also featured news-making interviews with the heads of major NGOs like the Human Rights Campaign and American Medical Association and some of the most decorated figures in the American legal establishment like First Amendment attorney Floyd Abrams.
Previously, I worked as a reporter covering antitrust and the biomedical/pharmaceutical industries with a focus on the Justice Department and Federal Trade Commission’s investigations of multi-billion-dollar mergers and acquisitions.
