Ashley Johnson joined the CBS News Philadelphia team as our Executive Producer of Impact on Communities (EPIC) in March of 2022. In this newly-created position, Ashley helps drive our focus on the 3 C’s of Content, Community and Culture. Specifically, to help us accurately reflect and represent communities throughout our market, and hold the powerful accountable to affect positive change in those communities. It’s not surprising this important role drew a candidate like Ashley – her grandmother was an activist who participated in the Women’s Suffrage March and Ashley wants to continue her vision of making sure that all voices are heard. Ashley grew up in West Philadelphia, and says her passion for becoming a journalist started in third grade. She’s lived all over the country reporting, most recently at WPVI, where her focus on enterprise content has helped her develop key connections with community influencers in our market.
