RICKY CODY(he/him/his) is chief meteorologist at Spectrum News 1 in Austin, Texas Prior to Spectrum News 1, Ricky was the chief meteorologist for Fox West Texas in Abilene and San Angelo, Texas. While there, Cody redeveloped the station’s weather team and branding, making the station the most watched station for weather. His passion for weather storytelling and community involvement earned him his first Emmy in 2019. Cody also earned two regional Edward R. Murrow awards for his work on testing bodies of water in Ballinger, Texas after residents complained their drinking water was destroying their health. Cody’s coverage of the winter storm 2021 earned him his second Emmy win and his fourth nomination
